About Compress AVIF

AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) is an open, royalty-free next-generation image format developed by the Alliance for Open Media (AOMedia). Leveraging the AV1 video codec's advanced intra-frame compression algorithms, AVIF produces significantly smaller file sizes than JPEG, PNG, and even WebP at equivalent visual quality.

AVIF supports 10-bit and 12-bit color depths, high dynamic range (HDR), wide color gamuts (including DCI-P3 and Rec. 2020), and full alpha transparency channels.

Our in-browser AVIF compressor enables local, secure compression using your browser's built-in hardware-accelerated codec pipeline. No files leave your computer or phone.

Common Use Cases
