Because photos contain millions of subtle color gradients, raw camera files can easily weigh 5MB to 20MB. Our browser-based JPEG compressor utilizes sophisticated discrete cosine transform (DCT) quantization algorithms to remove color frequencies that the human visual system cannot distinguish.

Unlike cloud-based compression websites that send your personal photos over the internet to remote servers, our compression engine operates entirely on your computer or mobile device. Your photos are decoded and re-encoded inside background Web Workers, maintaining total privacy while eliminating slow upload queues.

If your source photo is already heavily compressed, our engine automatically detects if encoding would result in an increased file size and alerts you so you never download an unnecessarily bloated file.
