Should I export as a circle or a square?
We strongly recommend exporting as a standard square. Most platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Discord) automatically clip square uploads into circles in their UI. Uploading a pre-cut circle can result in double-cropping or ugly black corners.
What is the recommended avatar resolution?
512×512 pixels is the optimal sweet spot for almost all platforms. It delivers razor-sharp clarity on high-DPI smartphone screens (Retina) while keeping file sizes small and load times instant.
Does this tool upload my personal photo to a server?
No. All image loading, panning, zooming, and canvas exporting take place purely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your photo is never transmitted over the internet.
